Princess Zoombella lived in a bright, cozy kingdom. Her house was a rainbow-colored mushroom, round and tall. She loved butterflies. They fluttered all around her sunny meadow, humming little tunes.
Her best friend was a sparkly android named Blinky Sparx. Blinky loved puzzles. His eyes blinked blue and green when he was thinking. "What shall we do today?" Blinky asked.
Then they heard it. A beautiful sound floated through the air. It was soft. It was sweet. It smelled like honey and tickled their ears. "What is THAT?" said Princess Zoombella. "Let's find out!" said Blinky Sparx.
They followed the sound down a winding path. They came to a sparkling garden with a golden gate. Inside, flowers grew in every color. But these were not regular flowers. These flowers played sounds when you touched their soft, velvety petals!
Princess Zoombella touched a red flower shaped like a little drum. BONK! It made a loud, clunky sound. She tried a blue flower shaped like a flute. SQUEEEAK! It made a funny, squeaky sound. The butterflies flew away!
Princess Zoombella sat down on the soft, warm grass. Her eyes got watery. "I cannot play," she said. "The sounds are all wrong. Music is too hard." She felt sad. She felt small.
Blinky Sparx sat down beside her. His eyes blinked blue and green. "Music is not about being perfect," he said. "Music is about trying. Music is about having fun! Shall we just play and see what happens?"
So they tried. They tapped the little drum flower. Tap, tap, tap! They shook a yellow flower shaped like a tambourine. Jingle, jingle, jingle! They hummed along. It was wobbly. It was silly. But it was FUN!
The next day, they came back. Tap, tap, tap. Jingle, jingle, jingle. The day after that, they came back again. Tap, tap, tap! Jingle, jingle, jingle! A little bit every day. Each time, it sounded a tiny bit better.
One sunny morning, Princess Zoombella picked up the yellow tambourine flower. She shook it and tapped it. Jingle-tap-jingle-tap-jingle! It sounded bright and happy! "I love THIS one!" she laughed. She had found her instrument.
The butterflies came back! They danced in the air to her happy, wobbly song. Their wings hummed along. Jingle-tap-hummm! Jingle-tap-hummm! The whole Music Garden swayed and sparkled. Can you tap along too? Tap, tap, tap!
That night, Princess Zoombella held her tambourine flower close. It jingled softly. "Blinky," she whispered, "do you think I will get even better?" Blinky Sparx smiled. "A little bit every day," he said. "The music grows right along with you — just like a garden." And somewhere in the meadow, a butterfly hummed a sleepy tune.
