It is Christmas Eve! Snow falls soft and slow. Little white snowflakes dance down, down, down. Can you see them fall?
Calamity Kate has a friend. He is round and white and cold! His name is Frostyline Fable. He has a big, big smile. "Let us go!" says Kate. "Let us share!"
Kate hops up on her horse. Clip-clop, clip-clop! Frostyline Fable sits behind her. He holds on tight! Off they go into the snow.
They have a big red basket. What is inside? Warm cookies! Little gifts! And one special golden candle. So many good things to share.
Knock, knock! The first door opens. "Merry Christmas!" says Kate. She gives warm cookies. She gives a hug. The neighbor smiles big. Sharing feels so good!
Knock, knock! The next door opens. "Merry Christmas!" says Frostyline Fable. He gives a little gift. He gives a hug — a cold, snowy hug! When you are kind, it makes hearts warm.
Knock, knock! One more door. More cookies! More hugs! More kind words. "We love you, neighbor!" Door after door, they share and share. Who is next?
Oh no. One little house is dark. No light. No candle. They peek inside. A lonely neighbor sits alone. No smile. Kate feels sad. Frostyline Fable feels sad too.
"I know!" says Kate. She takes out the special golden candle. Their very own candle! She gives it to the lonely neighbor. "This is for you," she says softly. When someone is sad, you can sit with them. You can share what you have.
"Come with us!" says Frostyline Fable. "You are not alone." The neighbor smiles a little smile. They all walk together down the friendly trail. Clip-clop, clip-clop goes the horse. The snow falls soft.
Look! The big sparkling Christmas tree! All the neighbors are here. Everyone holds hands in a big circle. They sing a soft, sweet song. "Laaaa, la la laaaa." Can you sing too?
The cookies are gone. The gifts are gone. The candle glows far away in a little window. But love? Love is still here. Love grows and grows the more you give it away. And tomorrow, there will be more love to share.
