Jack, a silly boy, stands in front of a cozy cottage with a bright red door, arms stretched wide with a big grin, surrounded by tall sunflowers and plump red tomatoes in a garden bed. In the background, a big green grassy hill rises up with a winding soft dirt path, dotted with yellow, purple, and pink wildflowers.

Jack lived in a cozy little cottage at the bottom of a big, grassy hill. He loved to run and jump and play all day long. Outside his red door, tall sunflowers and red tomatoes grew in a friendly garden.

Jill, a curious girl, stands at the bright red door of the cozy cottage, pointing up excitedly with one hand, her eyes wide with curiosity. In the background, the big green grassy hill rises up with its winding soft dirt path leading to the round gray stone well at the very top.

One warm, sunny morning, Jack heard a knock. It was his friend Jill! "Let's go up the hill!" said Jill. She pointed to the very top. "The old well has water for our sunflowers!"

A winding soft dirt path climbs up through bright green grass, lined with clusters of yellow, purple, and pink wildflowers swaying gently in the breeze. In the background, the round gray stone well sits at the very top of the big grassy hill under a warm sunny sky.

Up, up, up they went! Jack skipped fast. Jill looked at everything. Yellow flowers! Purple flowers! Pink flowers! The soft dirt path went up and up through the green grass.

Jack, a silly boy, pulls up a small wooden bucket on a rope from inside the round gray stone well, water splashing as it comes up, with a proud grin on his face. In the background, the big green grassy hill slopes downward with yellow, purple, and pink wildflowers dotting the hillside.

They made it to the top! The old well was made of round gray stones. Jack grabbed a wooden bucket on a rope. Splash! Cold water filled it up. "I will carry it!" said Jack. "I am fast!"

Jack, a silly boy, tumbles down the green grassy hillside, the small wooden bucket flying from his hands, water splashing out in all directions, his face surprised. In the background, the round gray stone well sits at the top of the big grassy hill under the warm sunny sky.

Jack ran down the hill. Too fast! His foot caught a bumpy rock. Trip! Tumble! Bump! Down he went, rolling through the grass. The water spilled everywhere. Jack sat up and looked at his knee. It was red and sore.

Jill, a curious girl, sits gently in the soft green grass beside her friend, patting his back with one hand, her face kind and caring. In the background, yellow, purple, and pink wildflowers dot the grassy hillside under the warm sunny sky.

Jack's eyes got watery. His lip wobbled. "It hurts," he said in a small voice. He tried not to cry. Jill sat down right next to him in the soft grass. "It is okay to cry," said Jill. "Crying helps the hurt come out."

Jack, a silly boy, sits in the soft green grass with his eyes closed, taking a big deep breath, his chest puffed out, a small tear on his cheek but a calmer look on his face. In the background, the cozy cottage with its bright red door sits at the bottom of the big grassy hill.

So Jack cried a little. Jill stayed right there. She did not leave. She did not rush. She just sat with him. After a bit, Jack took a big, deep breath. In through his nose. Out through his mouth. He felt a little better.

Jill, a curious girl, reaches out her hand toward her friend on the soft dirt path winding up the big grassy hill, smiling warmly and encouragingly. In the background, the round gray stone well waits at the very top of the hill under the warm sunny sky.

"Can we try again?" asked Jack. "Yes!" said Jill. "But this time, let's walk slowly. And hold hands so we do not fall." Jack smiled. Slow sounded good. They walked back up the hill, step by step.

A fuzzy green caterpillar inches along a bright green leaf next to a small shiny red ladybug, with tiny sparkly puddles of water on the soft dirt path nearby. In the background, bright green grass and yellow, purple, and pink wildflowers line the winding soft dirt path.

Going slow was fun! They found puddles from the spilled water. Splish, splash! They peeked at a fuzzy caterpillar on a leaf. "Hello, little bug!" said Jack. They found a shiny red ladybug too.

A small, shimmering rainbow glows inside a wispy cloud of mist floating just above the round gray stone well, with the small wooden bucket resting on the stone edge, full of sparkling water. In the background, the warm sun shines in a bright blue sky above the big green grassy hill.

At the top, they filled the wooden bucket again. Splash! This time, a little mist floated up from the well. And inside the mist — a tiny rainbow! Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. "Look!" whispered Jill. "Magic!"

Jack, a silly boy, tips the small wooden bucket, pouring sparkling water onto the base of tall sunflowers and plump red tomatoes in the garden bed by the cozy cottage with the bright red door. In the background, the big green grassy hill rises up with its winding soft dirt path and yellow, purple, and pink wildflowers.

They walked down slowly, holding hands, one step at a time. The water stayed safe in the bucket! At the bottom, they poured the cool water on their sunflower garden. Glug, glug, glug! The sunflowers seemed to dance and say thank you.

Jill, a curious girl, stands next to the tall sunflowers in the garden, looking up at them with wonder, the golden petals towering above her head in the warm light. In the background, the big green grassy hill glows in the golden late-afternoon sun, the round gray stone well tiny at the very top.

Jack looked at the tall sunflowers. Then he looked up the big hill. "Jill?" he said. "Do you think the sunflowers will be even taller tomorrow?" Jill smiled. "I think so. And tomorrow, we can climb the hill again." Jack wiggled with excitement. He could not wait.
