Priya stands in the doorway of her bright, cozy classroom, smiling wide with her backpack on, eyes sparkling with excitement. Floating alphabet letters shimmer in the air around the room, and the friendly chalkboard on the wall displays a silly smiley face drawing. In the background, a cheerful classroom with colorful posters, cubbies, and sunshine streaming through the windows.

Priya loved puzzles more than anything in the whole wide world. She loved puzzles with shapes. She loved puzzles with numbers. She even loved puzzles with words! Every morning, Priya walked into her bright, cozy classroom ready to find something new to figure out.

Priya sits at her desk, leaning forward with wide, curious eyes and a big grin. The friendly chalkboard behind the teacher displays the words 'Sound Detectives' with little magnifying glass doodles drawn around them. In the background, the cozy classroom with floating alphabet letters drifting gently near the ceiling.

One morning, Priya's teacher had a surprise. "Today, we are going to be Sound Detectives!" the teacher said. "Mystery sounds are hiding inside every word. Can you find them?" Priya sat up tall. Mystery sounds? That sounded like the best puzzle ever!

Priya stands proudly wearing the sparkly Sound Detective hat on her head and holding up the oversized colorful magnifying glass with both hands, striking a detective pose. Word bubbles float nearby, giggling and popping like soap bubbles. In the background, the classroom has transformed into the magical Sound Detective Lab with shimmering letters hovering in the air.

The teacher opened a big box. Inside were sparkly Sound Detective hats and oversized colorful magnifying glasses. Priya put on her hat. It was purple and covered in tiny silver stars. She held up her magnifying glass. "I am ready!" said Priya. "Let's find those sounds!"

Priya holds the oversized colorful magnifying glass up toward the window where a big bright sun shines through. The friendly chalkboard is alive beside her, showing a silly cartoon snake with the letter S drawn in colorful chalk. In the background, the cheerful neighborhood is visible through the classroom windows with birds in the trees.

The teacher pointed to the window. A big, bright sun was shining outside. "What sound do you hear at the beginning of sun?" the teacher asked. Priya listened carefully. "Sssss!" she said, making the sound slither like a snake. "Sun starts with a slithery sssss!" The friendly chalkboard drew a silly snake saying "Sssss!"

Priya presses her ear toward the window with one hand cupped around it, eyes closed in concentration, wearing her sparkly Sound Detective hat. A shimmery golden letter B floats gently down toward her open palm, glowing warmly. In the background, a cheerful bird perches on a tree branch just outside the classroom window.

Next, Priya heard a bird chirping outside. "Bird!" she said. "What sound is at the beginning?" She pressed her ear close to the window. "Buh! Buh! Bird starts with buh!" A shimmery letter B floated down from the ceiling and landed softly on her hand. It hummed a little song.

Priya claps her hands together joyfully, wearing her sparkly Sound Detective hat, with her mouth open mid-laugh. A word bubble floats above her head showing the word 'cat' with the letter T glowing bright red. The friendly chalkboard displays a silly drawing of a cat. In the background, the magical Sound Detective Lab glows with floating shimmery alphabet letters.

"Now let's try ending sounds!" the teacher said. "Listen to this word: cat." Priya said the word slowly. "Caaaa-t. T-t-t!" She clapped her hands. "Cat ends with a sharp t-t-t!" A word bubble popped above her head and giggled. Priya giggled too. Sounds were everywhere!

Priya stands near the window holding the oversized colorful magnifying glass, whispering with her lips pursed to make the 'fff' sound. Colorful leaves swirl just outside the window pane, and shimmery letters L and F float near her. In the background, the cheerful neighborhood with a bell tower visible and autumn leaves dancing in the breeze.

Priya tried more words. "Bell! Bell ends with lll," she said, rolling the sound on her tongue. Outside, a bell was ringing. "Leaf! Leaf ends with fff," she whispered, blowing air through her teeth. Leaves rustled past the window as if they heard her. Priya was getting good at this!

The friendly chalkboard is alive and shaking with a wild expression, showing scrambled letters D-O-G jumbled up in a swirl of colorful chalk dust. Priya stands in front of it, looking up with wide surprised eyes, wearing her sparkly Sound Detective hat. In the background, the magical Sound Detective Lab with word bubbles floating and popping nervously around the room.

Then something strange happened. The friendly chalkboard began to shake and rattle. Silly drawings bounced all over it. Letters flew around in a jumble. When it stopped, one mixed-up puzzle was left on the board: the letters were all scrambled up! "Oh no!" said the teacher. "The chalkboard made a tricky puzzle! Can anyone figure out this mystery word?"

Priya steps forward bravely toward the friendly chalkboard, holding her oversized colorful magnifying glass up to the scrambled letters, concentrating hard with one eyebrow raised. Her sparkly Sound Detective hat gleams under the classroom lights. In the background, classmates sit at their desks watching Priya with curious, hopeful expressions.

All the children looked at the scrambled letters. They scratched their heads. They squished their faces. Nobody could figure it out! But Priya did not give up. "I am a Sound Detective," she said. "I will use my ears." She looked at the first letter and made its sound. "Duh," she said softly. "It starts with duh."

Priya jumps in the air with both arms raised in triumph, wearing her sparkly Sound Detective hat, a huge smile on her face. The friendly chalkboard behind her shows the word DOG in big bold letters with a silly cartoon dog wagging its tail drawn in colorful chalk. In the background, word bubbles pop like confetti and shimmery alphabet letters swirl in celebration around the classroom.

Priya sounded out each letter, one by one. "Duh... aww... guh." She put the sounds together, faster and faster. "Duh-aww-guh. D-O-G. Dog!" she shouted. "The mystery word is DOG!" The friendly chalkboard drew a big, silly dog with a wagging tail. The word bubbles popped and cheered. Everyone clapped for Priya!

Priya stands at the front of the classroom with her arms spread wide, wearing her sparkly Sound Detective hat, speaking to her classmates who are all now wearing their own sparkly Sound Detective hats and holding oversized colorful magnifying glasses, grinning excitedly. In the background, the friendly chalkboard shows a big smiley face and the words 'We Are Sound Detectives!' in cheerful chalk letters.

"You did it, Priya!" the teacher said. "You used your ears to solve the puzzle!" Priya smiled at her classmates. "You can do it too!" she said. "Just stop. Listen. And try! Every word has sounds hiding inside it. You just have to be brave and listen." All the children put on their Sound Detective hats. Now everyone was a Sound Detective!

Priya walks along a sunny sidewalk in the cheerful neighborhood, wearing her sparkly Sound Detective hat and holding the oversized colorful magnifying glass up to her eye with a playful grin. Shimmery floating alphabet letters trail behind her like a magical parade. In the background, the cheerful neighborhood with houses, trees, chirping birds, and a bright blue sky.

From that day on, Priya listened for sounds everywhere she went. She heard the mmmm at the start of "mom" and the nnn at the end of "fun." Every word was a little puzzle, and every sound was a clue. And if you stop, listen, and try—you can be a Sound Detective too!
