Jamal sitting cross-legged beneath a large, friendly oak tree with thick branches and green leaves, leaning back against the trunk with a peaceful smile on his face. In the background, a sunny park with tall green trees, winding stone paths, and colorful wildflowers dotting grassy hills.

Jamal sat under his favorite oak tree in the park. The sun was warm. The birds sang soft songs. It was a quiet afternoon, and Jamal liked quiet afternoons best of all.

Jamal kneeling at the base of the large oak tree, holding up an unrolled hand-drawn treasure map with both hands, his eyes wide with curiosity and wonder. In the background, the sunny park with stone paths winding through green grass and wildflowers.

Jamal looked down and saw something tucked between the roots of the old oak tree. It was a piece of paper, rolled up like a scroll. He picked it up and unrolled it carefully. "A map!" said Jamal. "It looks like a treasure map!"

A close-up view of the hand-drawn treasure map laid flat on the grass, showing simple drawings of red flowers, a big rock, a grassy hill, a creek with a bridge, and a treasure chest marked with an X, with arrows pointing left, right, up, and down between them. In the background, soft green grass beneath the shade of the oak tree.

The map had simple drawings on it. There were arrows and little pictures. Jamal studied it closely. The first direction said to go LEFT past the red flowers. "Left," said Jamal, pointing to his left hand. "That way!"

Jamal walking along a winding stone path to the left, passing a colorful patch of bright red wildflowers, holding the hand-drawn treasure map in one hand and smiling confidently. In the background, tall green trees and a sunny blue sky with soft white clouds.

Jamal walked to the LEFT. He passed a patch of bright red flowers that swayed in the breeze. "Red flowers, just like the map shows," he said with a smile. "I am going the right way!"

Jamal standing beside a large gray rock on the stone path, pointing to his right with one hand and holding the hand-drawn treasure map in the other, looking determined and calm. In the background, green trees lining the stone path with dappled sunlight on the ground.

The next direction on the map said to turn RIGHT at the big rock. Jamal saw a big gray rock ahead. "Right," said Jamal, pointing to his right hand. "That means I turn this way!" He turned right and kept walking.

Jamal climbing up a grassy green hill dotted with yellow and purple wildflowers, holding the hand-drawn treasure map, his body leaning forward as he steps upward with effort and a determined smile. In the background, the sunny park stretching out below with stone paths and tall green trees.

The map said to go UP the grassy hill next. Jamal looked ahead and saw a green hill dotted with yellow and purple wildflowers. "Up I go!" said Jamal. He climbed up, up, up the hill, one step at a time.

Jamal standing at the top of the grassy hill, looking down at two identical winding stone paths that split and go in different directions down the hill, holding the hand-drawn treasure map with a puzzled expression on his face. In the background, the park below with the bubbling creek, the little wooden bridge, and green trees.

At the top of the hill, Jamal stopped. "Oh no," he said quietly. Two paths went DOWN the other side. They looked exactly the same! Which way should he go? Jamal felt a little confused.

Jamal sitting calmly on the grass at the top of the hill, holding the hand-drawn treasure map close to his face, studying it carefully with a focused and thoughtful expression. In the background, the two stone paths going down the hill with trees and the creek visible in the distance.

Jamal took a deep breath. He was calm and focused, just like when he played chess. He looked at the map again, very carefully. The map showed that the path went DOWN toward a creek with a little bridge. He looked at both paths.

Jamal standing at the top of the hill, pointing excitedly down toward the path that leads to the bubbling creek and little wooden bridge, a big smile on his face, the hand-drawn treasure map in his other hand. In the background, the bubbling creek with the little wooden bridge surrounded by green trees and wildflowers.

"I see it!" said Jamal. One path led to a bench. But the other path led DOWN to the bubbling creek and a little wooden bridge! "The map says go down to the creek. That path is the one!" Jamal had solved the puzzle!

Jamal walking across the little wooden bridge over the bubbling creek, looking ahead with excitement, the hand-drawn treasure map tucked under his arm, with a small wooden chest barely visible beneath a green bush on the far bank. In the background, smooth creek stones in the water, green bushes, and tall trees along the creek bank.

Jamal walked DOWN the hill to the creek. The water bubbled and splashed over smooth stones. He crossed the little wooden bridge, step by step. On the other side, he saw something hiding under a bush!

Jamal kneeling on the grass beside the creek, lifting the lid of the small wooden chest and looking inside with amazement and joy, the chest revealing colorful rainbow chess pieces glowing in the sunlight. In the background, the bubbling creek, the little wooden bridge, and green bushes with wildflowers.

It was a small wooden chest! Jamal knelt down and opened it slowly. Inside were beautiful chess pieces in every color of the rainbow—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple! "Wow!" said Jamal. "This is the best treasure ever!"

Jamal sitting peacefully under the large oak tree, setting up the colorful rainbow chess pieces on a flat gray rock, smiling contentedly in the dappled shade. In the background, the sunny park with winding stone paths, tall green trees, and colorful wildflowers on the grassy hills.

Jamal carried the chess pieces back to his favorite oak tree. He set them up on a flat rock and played a quiet game in the shade. "I went left, right, up, and down," he said happily. "And I found the perfect treasure." What a wonderful afternoon!
