Hana is dancing joyfully in the middle of a bright, sunny kitchen with black-and-white checkered floor tiles. She has her arms outstretched and is mid-twirl, her hair swinging. A big wooden table with a tray of number-shaped cookies is beside her, and sunshine streams through a window above the sink. In the background, a fridge covered in colorful number magnets, a counter with a small radio, and bright kitchen walls bathed in golden light.

Hana loved to dance in the kitchen. Every morning, she would spin and twirl on the bright checkered floor. The golden sunshine came through the window and made everything warm and happy. A little radio on the counter played soft music, and Hana danced along.

A close-up view of the fridge door covered in colorful number magnets scattered in a jumbled, mixed-up arrangement. The magnets are bright and chunky — a red 1, an orange 2, a yellow 3, a green 4, a blue 5, a purple 6, a pink 7, an aqua 8, a silver 9, and a gold 10 — all placed in random spots across the fridge door. In the background, the sunny kitchen with checkered floor tiles and warm golden light.

On the fridge, there were colorful magnets shaped like numbers. There was a red 1, an orange 2, a yellow 3, a green 4, a blue 5, and more! They usually stood in a neat row, like friends holding hands. But this morning, something was different.

Hana is standing in front of the fridge, looking up at it with wide, concerned eyes and her hands on her cheeks in surprise. The colorful number magnets on the fridge are scattered in wrong positions — the blue 5 is next to the red 1, the yellow 3 is at the top corner, and the aqua 8 is near the bottom. In the background, the big wooden table with number-shaped cookies on a tray and the sunlit kitchen window.

The numbers were all mixed up! The 5 was next to the 1. The 3 was way up high, all alone. The 8 was down at the bottom, far from its friends. "Oh no!" said Hana. "Every number is lonely! They can't find their neighbors!"

Hana is clapping her hands together with a big, bright smile, standing in front of the fridge. She looks excited and determined, one foot lifted as if about to start dancing. The jumbled number magnets are visible on the fridge beside her. In the background, the checkered kitchen floor, the counter with the small radio, and warm sunshine streaming in.

Hana had an idea. "I know!" she said. "Every number has neighbors — one that comes before and one that comes after. I can help them find their friends!" She clapped her hands and began to dance. "Let's play a counting game!"

Hana is reaching up toward the fridge, sliding the orange 2 magnet into place right next to the red 1 magnet. She is standing on her tiptoes with a happy expression, one arm extended to the fridge. Her feet are in a little dance pose on the checkered floor. In the background, the rest of the kitchen with the big wooden table and the window casting golden light.

Hana found the red 1 first. "Hello, 1!" she said. "You are the very first number. You don't have a neighbor before you, but your neighbor after you is 2!" She slid the orange 2 right next to the 1. Hop, hop, slide! Hana danced as she counted. "1, 2!"

Hana is stretching up high on her tiptoes, reaching for the yellow 3 magnet near the top of the fridge and bringing it down to place it next to the orange 2 and red 1 magnets, which are now in a neat row. She has a joyful, singing expression. In the background, the bright kitchen with sunshine and colorful remaining scattered magnets on the fridge.

"Now let's find 2's other neighbor!" said Hana. She counted up from 2. "2... 3! The neighbor after 2 is 3!" She found the yellow 3 way up high and slid it into place. Twirl, twirl, slide! "1, 2, 3!" Hana sang as she danced.

Hana is placing the green 4 magnet on the fridge between the yellow 3 and the blue 5 magnets. She is mid-spin, her body turned slightly with a delighted grin. The row on the fridge now reads 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in their correct colorful order. In the background, the kitchen counter with the small radio, and the tray of number-shaped cookies on the big wooden table.

Hana kept going! She found the green 4 hiding behind a picture magnet. "The neighbor before 4 is 3, and the neighbor after 4 is 5!" she said. She put 4 right between its friends. Spin, spin, slide! "3, 4, 5!" she counted.

Hana is crouching down near the bottom of the fridge, picking up the purple 6 magnet with one hand. She is looking up at the growing row of number magnets on the fridge with a proud smile, doing a little shimmy with her shoulders. In the background, the checkered floor tiles and the legs of the big wooden table.

"What comes after 5?" Hana asked. She counted up. "5... 6!" She found the purple 6 near the bottom of the fridge. "And what comes before 5?" She counted down. "5... 4! That's right, 4 is already there!" Shimmy, shimmy, slide!

Hana is dancing energetically, placing the pink 7 and aqua 8 magnets onto the fridge. She has one magnet in each hand, arms wide, mid-dance-step on the checkered floor. The row on the fridge is growing longer with colorful numbers lining up neatly from 1 through 8. In the background, the sunlit window, the counter with the radio, and warm golden light filling the kitchen.

Hana danced faster now! She found the pink 7 and the aqua 8. "6, 7, 8!" she sang. "7's neighbor before is 6, and 7's neighbor after is 8!" Every number was finding its friends. The fridge was looking better and better!

Hana is leaping joyfully in front of the fridge, placing the gold 10 magnet at the end of the row. The silver 9 is already in place. The full row of number magnets — red 1, orange 2, yellow 3, green 4, blue 5, purple 6, pink 7, aqua 8, silver 9, gold 10 — stretches neatly across the fridge. In the background, the bright kitchen with the big wooden table, the tray of cookies, and sunshine streaming through the window.

"Almost done!" said Hana. She found the silver 9 and the gold 10. "8, 9, 10!" she counted. "9's neighbor before is 8, and 9's neighbor after is 10! And 10 is the last one in our row!" Leap, leap, slide! All the numbers were in place!

Hana is standing back from the fridge with her hands clasped together near her chest, beaming with pride. The fridge displays all ten colorful number magnets in a perfect, neat row from 1 to 10. The whole kitchen glows with warm, golden sunshine. In the background, the checkered floor, the big wooden table with number-shaped cookies, and the window with bright sunshine.

Hana stepped back and looked at the fridge. All the numbers stood in a happy row, from 1 to 10. No number was lonely anymore! Every single one had a neighbor before it and a neighbor after it. "You all found your friends!" Hana cheered.

Hana is doing a big, joyful twirl in the center of the kitchen, holding a cookie shaped like the number 5 in one hand with a bite taken out of it. She is mid-spin with a huge smile, her hair flying. The fridge behind her shows all ten number magnets in their perfect colorful row. In the background, the big wooden table with the tray of number-shaped cookies, the small radio on the counter, and golden sunshine filling the cheerful kitchen.

Hana turned up the little radio and did her biggest dance yet! She spun and hopped and twirled across the checkered floor. "Every number has neighbors!" she sang. "One before and one after!" Then she picked up a cookie shaped like a 5 and took a big, happy bite. What a sweet way to count!
