Mei sitting at a colorful table in the kindergarten classroom, smiling as she draws in her sketchbook with a pencil, her eyes bright with imagination. In the background, a bright kindergarten classroom with big sunny windows decorated with paper butterflies, bins of crayons on shelves, and a rainbow-striped rug on the floor.

Mei loved to draw. Every day at school, she sat at her favorite table and opened her sketchbook. She drew trees with swirly branches. She drew flowers with big, bright petals. Drawing made Mei feel happy inside.

Mei holding up her sketchbook excitedly, showing a pencil outline of a garden with roses and butterflies sketched lightly on the page. In the background, the bright classroom with colorful tables and jars of paint on a shelf.

Today, Mei had a special plan. She wanted to draw a magical garden! It would have rainbow roses, a golden sun, and tiny butterflies dancing in the sky. "This will be my best picture ever!" Mei said with a big smile.

Mei reaching toward an empty crayon bin on the table, her face showing surprise and disappointment, while other children's hands hold crayons and color nearby. In the background, the sunny classroom windows with paper butterflies and shelves of art supplies.

But when Mei reached for the crayons, the bin was empty! She looked around the table. All of the crayons were being used by other kids. Red, blue, yellow, green—every single one was taken.

Mei sitting at the table with her chin resting on one hand, tapping the table with her other hand, looking impatient and a little sad, her sketchbook open in front of her. In the background, other children happily coloring at the table, with the rainbow-striped rug visible on the floor nearby.

Mei frowned. She tapped her fingers on the table. Tap, tap, tap. She waited. And waited. And waited some more. "When will it be my turn?" she whispered. Waiting felt so hard!

Leo the lion walking up to Mei at the table, his big fluffy mane slightly tousled, letting out a gentle yawn as he looks at Mei with kind eyes. In the background, the cozy reading nook with soft pillows and a bookshelf.

Just then, Leo padded over. Leo was Mei's friend. He was a big, fluffy lion who loved napping more than anything. But right now, he was wide awake. "What's wrong, Mei?" Leo asked with a yawn.

Mei holding her sketchbook open toward Leo, showing the pencil-drawn garden with no color, while Leo leans in to look at it curiously. In the background, the bright classroom windows letting golden sunshine pour across the table.

"I want to color my magical garden," Mei said. "But all the crayons are taken. I have been waiting and waiting." She held up her sketchbook so Leo could see. The garden was drawn in pencil, but it had no color at all.

Leo holding out the colored pencil pouch toward Mei with a warm smile, the pouch open to reveal colorful pencils inside, while Mei's eyes light up with excitement. In the background, the classroom wall with children's artwork pinned up and paper butterflies on the windows.

Leo smiled. "I have colored pencils!" he said. "Would you like to share them with me?" He held out a small pouch of colored pencils. There were so many pretty colors inside—violet, turquoise, and even gold!

Mei and Leo sitting together at the table, both coloring in the sketchbook—Mei using a turquoise pencil on a butterfly and Leo using a gold pencil on the sun, both smiling and laughing. In the background, jars of paint on a shelf and the rainbow-striped rug on the floor.

"Really? Thank you, Leo!" Mei said. She picked up a turquoise pencil and colored a butterfly wing. Leo picked up the gold pencil and colored the sun. They drew side by side, laughing and sharing ideas.

Mei and Leo admiring the sketchbook together, which now shows a colorful magical garden with rainbow roses, a golden sun with tiny stars, and turquoise butterflies, both characters looking delighted. In the background, sunshine streaming through the big classroom windows, casting warm light on the table.

"Look!" said Mei. "Drawing together is even more fun than drawing alone!" Leo added tiny stars around the golden sun. Mei giggled. "I never thought of that!" she said. "It looks like magic!"

Mei turning to look at the classmate sitting at the same table, the classmate looking down sadly at an unfinished drawing, while Leo watches from beside Mei. In the background, the colorful classroom with bins of art supplies on shelves and paper butterflies on the windows.

Then Mei noticed a classmate sitting nearby. The classmate looked sad. "What's wrong?" Mei asked. "I need a pencil to finish my drawing," the classmate said quietly. "But I don't have one."

Mei handing a violet colored pencil to the classmate with a big, kind smile, while Leo sits nearby looking proud, and the classmate reaches out happily to accept it. In the background, the cozy reading nook with soft pillows and the rainbow-striped rug on the floor.

Mei remembered how it felt to wait and wait. She picked up a bright violet pencil from the pouch. "Here you go!" she said. "You can share with us!" The classmate's face lit up. "Thank you, Mei!" Now three friends were drawing together.

Mei standing proudly by the table covered in colorful drawings, holding up her finished magical garden sketchbook page, while Leo curls up sleepily on the rainbow-striped rug nearby, and the classmate waves happily in the background. In the background, the bright kindergarten classroom bathed in warm afternoon sunshine, with paper butterflies on the windows and artwork displayed on the walls.

By the end of the day, the table was covered with beautiful drawings. Mei looked at her magical garden and smiled. It was full of colors she never could have picked alone. "Sharing makes everything better," Mei said. Leo yawned and nodded. "And now," he said, curling up on the rainbow rug, "it's time for a nap." Mei laughed. Some things never change!
