Amara stands in the doorway of a bright, cheerful preschool classroom, smiling wide with her hands clasped together in excitement. She wears a yellow dress with white sneakers. The room glows with morning sunlight. In the background, colorful cubbies line the wall, round tables with tiny chairs sit in the center, a cozy reading rug with soft pillows is on the floor, and sunny windows are decorated with finger-painted rainbows and paper butterflies.

Amara loved her classroom. It had tiny chairs, round tables, and a cozy rug with soft pillows. Sunny windows glowed with finger-painted rainbows and paper butterflies. Every morning, Amara walked in and smiled. She had a big, big question today.

Amara stands beside a round table, leaning in with curiosity, talking to the Rice Friend who sits in a tiny chair. The Rice Friend smiles and pretends to scoop rice with his hands. In the background, the bright classroom with colorful cubbies and sunny windows decorated with finger-painted rainbows.

Amara looked around. Her friends were all so different! "I wonder," said Amara. "What do YOU love to eat?" She asked her first friend at the round table. "I love rice!" he said. "Warm, soft, yummy rice." "Ooh!" said Amara. "I love rice too!"

Amara stands with her eyes closed and a dreamy smile, sniffing the air. The Bread Friend sits nearby on the reading rug, hugging a soft pillow and grinning as she talks about her grandma's bread. In the background, the cozy reading rug area with soft pillows and paper butterflies hanging from the windows.

"What do YOU love to eat?" Amara asked another friend. "I love bread!" she said. "Warm, crusty, golden bread. My grandma bakes it, and it smells SO good." Amara closed her eyes and sniffed the air. "Mmm! That sounds wonderful!"

Amara claps her hands together joyfully, standing between the round tables. The Rice Friend and the Bread Friend sit at separate tables, both laughing along with her. In the background, the bright classroom windows with finger-painted rainbows letting in warm sunlight.

Rice and bread! Both so yummy. Both so different. Amara giggled. "We don't eat the same things, but we ALL love to eat!" She clapped her hands. What else was different?

Amara watches with wide, delighted eyes as the Boots Friend stomps proudly in his big red boots, lifting one foot high. He wears a green shirt and jeans. In the background, the colorful cubbies filled with backpacks and lunchboxes.

"What do YOU love to wear?" Amara asked a friend by the cubbies. "I love my boots!" he said. He stomped his big, red boots on the floor. STOMP, STOMP, STOMP! "Wow!" said Amara. "Those are the BEST boots!"

Amara reaches up toward the Bow Friend's hair, admiring the big sparkly purple bow. The Bow Friend tilts her head proudly, smiling, her bow catching the sunlight from the window. In the background, sunny windows with finger-painted rainbows casting colorful light into the classroom.

"What do YOU love to wear?" Amara asked another friend. "I love my bow!" she said. It was a big, sparkly purple bow in her hair. It glittered in the sunlight like a tiny star. "Ooh!" said Amara. "It's so beautiful!"

Amara twirls in her yellow dress in the center of the classroom, arms out wide. The Boots Friend stomps nearby and the Bow Friend touches her sparkly purple bow, all three smiling. In the background, round tables with tiny chairs and the cozy reading rug with soft pillows.

Boots and bows! Both so special. Both so different. "We don't wear the same things," said Amara. "But we ALL love to feel happy in what we wear!" She twirled around. What else was different?

Amara stands between two friends at a round table. The Painter Friend swishes a paintbrush on paper, creating blue and green swooshy strokes. The Drummer Friend taps his hands on a small drum with a big grin. In the background, the cheerful classroom with paper butterflies hanging near the windows and colorful cubbies.

"What do YOU love to do?" Amara asked a friend at the art table. "I love to paint!" she said. SWISH, SWISH, SWISH! Her brush made big, swooshy strokes of blue and green. "How lovely!" said Amara. "What do YOU love to do?" she asked another friend. "I love to drum!" he said. BUM, BUM, BUM! His hands tapped a happy beat. "How fun!" said Amara.

Amara and her friends all turn toward the classroom door, which is slightly open with bright hallway light streaming in. Amara's face shows excitement and curiosity. In the background, the full classroom with round tables, tiny chairs, colorful cubbies, and the cozy reading rug.

Painting and drumming! Both so fun. Both so different. "We don't all do the same things," said Amara. "But we ALL love to play!" Suddenly, the classroom door opened. Someone new was here!

Amara gently takes the hand of the New Child, who stands in the doorway looking down shyly. The New Child wears an orange shirt and blue pants, clutching a small stuffed bunny in her other hand. Amara smiles warmly at her. In the background, the bright hallway light glows behind the New Child, and the cheerful classroom is visible beyond Amara.

A new child stood at the door. She looked down at her shoes. She held her hands together tight. She was quiet and shy. "What if I'm too different?" the new child whispered. Amara walked right up to her. "Come see!" said Amara, taking her hand gently.

Amara stands in the center of the classroom with the New Child beside her, gesturing around the room. The Rice Friend, the Bread Friend, the Boots Friend, the Bow Friend, the Painter Friend, and the Drummer Friend all gather in a happy half-circle, waving and smiling at the New Child, who is looking up with wide, hopeful eyes. In the background, the sunny classroom with finger-painted rainbows on the windows and paper butterflies, warm light filling the room.

Amara showed her everything. "This friend loves rice. This friend loves bread. This friend wears boots. This friend wears a bow. This friend paints. This friend drums. We are ALL different!" The new child looked up. Her eyes grew wide. "Really?" she asked. "Really!" said everyone together. "And YOU belong here too!"

All the children dance joyfully together in the center of the classroom. Amara twirls in her yellow dress. The New Child leaps with her stuffed bunny. The Boots Friend stomps, the Bow Friend spins, the Painter Friend waves her paintbrush, and the Drummer Friend claps a beat. Everyone is laughing and moving. In the background, the cozy reading rug, sunny windows with finger-painted rainbows and paper butterflies, and warm golden light flooding the cheerful classroom.

The new child smiled a big, big smile. "I love to dance!" she said. And do you know what happened? EVERYBODY danced! They stomped and twirled and clapped and laughed. Because when you are kind and you make room for everyone — everyone belongs. And THAT is the best thing of all.
