Hana is dancing joyfully in the middle of a bright, sunny kitchen with a black-and-white checkered floor, her arms spread wide and one foot lifted mid-step, smiling big. Colorful pots and pans hang on the walls around her, and golden sunlight streams through the big open window. In the background, a humming refrigerator and a small fan on the counter, with a warm breeze blowing curtains at the open window.

Hana loved to dance. She danced in her kitchen every day. Her feet went tap-tap-tap on the checkered floor. The sun came in the big window and made everything warm and bright.

Hana is standing at the open kitchen door looking down with curiosity and delight at the Funny Little Man, who stands in the doorway holding a shiny silver can in one hand and a small red-and-white paper fan in the other, grinning up at her. In the background, the bright sunny kitchen with colorful pots and pans on the walls and the checkered floor stretching behind Hana.

One sunny morning, Hana heard a knock-knock-knock. She opened the door. There stood a funny little man! He was very small. He had a big smile. He carried a shiny can in one hand and a little fan in the other.

Hana is kneeling down on the checkered floor to be face-to-face with the Funny Little Man, who is holding up the shiny silver can excitedly in one hand and the small red-and-white paper fan in the other, both of them grinning at each other. In the background, the sunny kitchen glows with warm light from the big open window, colorful pots and pans hanging on the wall.

"Hello!" said the funny little man. "I have a can. I have a fan. Do you want to make a plan?" Hana giggled. "A plan? What kind of plan?" "A silly plan!" he said. "Let's find all the things that rhyme with AN!"

Hana is dancing and laughing with her hands clapping while the Funny Little Man waves the small red-and-white paper fan, sending a whooshing breeze that makes Hana's hair flutter. Both are on the checkered kitchen floor mid-dance. In the background, the cheerful kitchen with sunlight streaming in and the curtains billowing from the breeze.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" said Hana. She clapped her hands. The funny little man waved his fan. Whoooosh! The breeze tickled Hana's nose. "Fan rhymes with AN!" said Hana. "An-an-an!" they sang together. And they danced on the checkered floor.

Hana is reaching up to tap a big shiny copper pan hanging on the kitchen wall with a wooden spoon, making a clang sound, while the Funny Little Man dances beside her on the checkered floor, holding his shiny silver can. In the background, more colorful pots and pans hang on the wall, and warm sunlight fills the kitchen.

Then Hana looked up. She saw something on the wall. "Look! A pan!" she said. It was a big, shiny pan. She tapped it with a spoon. CLANG! "Pan rhymes with AN!" said the funny little man. "An-an-an!" they sang. And they danced some more!

Hana and the Funny Little Man are standing together at the big open kitchen window, leaning out and pointing excitedly at a big blue van driving past on the sunny street outside. In the background, a bright sunny street with a green tree and blue sky visible through the open window.

They ran to the big window. They looked outside. "A van!" shouted Hana. A big blue van drove by. Beep-beep! "Van rhymes with AN!" they both said. "An-an-an!" they sang and sang. Their feet went tap-tap-tap!

Hana and the Funny Little Man are crouching down low on the checkered kitchen floor, peering at a tiny line of five ants marching across the black-and-white tiles, both looking delighted and whispering. In the background, the legs of the kitchen counter and the small fan whirring on top of it.

The funny little man pointed down at the floor. "Look! Look!" he whispered. A tiny clan of ants marched across the checkered tiles. One, two, three, four, five little ants! "A clan!" said Hana. "Clan rhymes with AN!" "An-an-an!" they sang softly to the little ants.

Hana is standing still on the checkered floor with a worried look, her hands on her cheeks, while the Funny Little Man beside her scratches his head with one hand and holds the shiny silver can in the other, both looking puzzled. In the background, the sunny kitchen looks still and quiet, the curtains hanging limp at the big open window.

They found a can. They found a fan. They found a pan, a van, and a clan. Hana and the funny little man danced and danced. But then... they stopped. "Oh no," said Hana. "I can't think of any more words!" The music in her mouth went quiet.

The Funny Little Man is sitting on his upside-down shiny silver can on the checkered floor, looking droopy and sad, while Hana stands nearby with her shoulders slumped and a pouty face, the small red-and-white paper fan resting on the floor between them. In the background, the quiet kitchen with the counter fan whirring and soft sunlight coming through the window.

The kitchen was quiet. No singing. No dancing. The fan on the counter whirred softly. Whirrrr. The funny little man sat on the shiny can. He looked sad. Hana looked sad too. "Is the rhyming game over?" she asked.

Hana is standing by the big open window with her eyes wide and mouth open in a huge surprised smile, the warm breeze blowing her hair, while the Funny Little Man leaps off the shiny silver can with his arms raised in celebration on the checkered floor. In the background, golden sunlight pours through the window and the curtains billow dramatically in the warm breeze.

Then the warm breeze blew in through the window. It whispered Hana's name. Hanaaaa. Hana's eyes got big and round. "Wait!" she said. "Listen! Ha-NA! My name has AN in it! Hana rhymes too!" The funny little man jumped up. "You ARE a rhyme!" he cheered.

Hana and the Funny Little Man are spinning and dancing together joyfully on the checkered kitchen floor, both with huge smiles, the Funny Little Man waving the small red-and-white paper fan overhead while Hana holds the shiny silver can like a microphone, singing. In the background, the bright kitchen is aglow with golden sunlight, colorful pots and pans gleaming on the walls, and the counter fan whirring happily.

"An-an-an!" they sang louder than ever. "Can! Fan! Pan! Van! Clan! HANA!" They danced and spun on the checkered floor. The fan on the counter whirred along. Whirrrr! The sun clapped its warm light all around them. The music was back!

Hana is facing forward with a big warm smile, arms open wide as if inviting the reader to sing along, standing on the checkered kitchen floor. The Funny Little Man stands beside her waving goodbye with one hand and holding the small red-and-white paper fan in the other. In the background, the cheerful sunny kitchen with colorful pots and pans, the big open window letting in golden light, and the counter fan whirring.

Hana learned something wonderful that day. When words sound the same, it is like music! You can make music with your mouth anytime. Can you try? What rhymes with AN? Sing it with Hana! An-an-an!
