Mei stands at the entrance of a colorful train station built from giant crayons and folded paper, holding her sketchbook under one arm and smiling with wonder. In the background, rainbow tracks wind through rolling green hills dotted with giant open storybooks, and soft puffy clouds shaped like letters float in the sunny sky.

Mei loved to draw. She drew cats. She drew stars. She drew wiggly lines that made her laugh. Today, she took her sketchbook to the train station made of crayons and paper.

The Story Train sits on the rainbow tracks with its three story cars lined up behind the engine, each car showing colorful painted pictures on their sides, while Mei walks toward it with curiosity on her face. In the background, green hills roll gently under a bright sunny sky with letter-shaped clouds.

There on the rainbow tracks sat a little train. But this was no regular train. It had no seats inside. It had stories! Each car had bright pictures painted on its side.

Mei stands beside the three mixed-up story cars, looking puzzled with one finger on her chin, studying the pictures painted on their sides — the Flower Car is first, then the Seed Car, then the Watering Car. In the background, a giant open storybook rests on a grassy hill under the sunny sky.

"Oh no!" said Mei. The three story cars were all mixed up! The pictures did not make sense. A flower bloomed first. Then a seed appeared. Then came watering. "That is not right," said Mei.

Mei sits cross-legged on the ground with her sketchbook open on her lap, drawing a little seed with her crayon, smiling as she figures it out. In the background, the Story Train waits quietly on the rainbow tracks beside the paper train station.

Mei opened her sketchbook. She drew a tiny seed in the ground. "Every story has a beginning," she said. "A seed comes first! That is how things start."

Mei pushes the Seed Car into place at the front of the Story Train, her hands on the car as it clicks onto the engine, while the painted bunny on the car's side wiggles to life with its nose twitching. In the background, rainbow tracks curve away through the green rolling hills.

Mei found the car with the bunny and the seed. She pushed it to the front. CLICK! It hooked into place. TOOT TOOT! The little train tooted. And the painted bunny on the side wiggled its nose!

Mei holds up her sketchbook showing a drawing of a watering can with drips coming out, her face bright with excitement. In the background, the Story Train sits on the rainbow tracks with the Seed Car already hooked in place, and puffy letter-shaped clouds drift across the blue sky.

"What comes next?" said Mei. She drew in her sketchbook again. She drew a watering can pouring drip, drip, drip. "The middle! The bunny waters the seed. That is what happens next!"

Mei pushes the Watering Car into place behind the Seed Car on the Story Train, beaming with joy, while the painted bunny on the Watering Car tips a watering can and little blue painted drops splash to life. In the background, giant open storybooks sit among the rolling green hills under the warm sun.

Mei found the car with the bunny and the watering can. She pushed it behind the first car. CLICK! TOOT TOOT! The train tooted again. The painted bunny tipped its watering can, and tiny blue drops splished and splashed!

Mei stands beside the Flower Car, pointing at the bright red-and-yellow flower painted on its side, looking proud and sure of herself. In the background, the Story Train waits on the rainbow tracks with the Seed Car and Watering Car already in order behind the engine.

One car was left. It showed a big, beautiful flower — red and yellow and tall. "The end!" said Mei. "The seed grew and grew. The flower bloomed! That is how the story ends."

Mei throws her arms up in celebration as the Flower Car clicks into place at the end of the Story Train, and all three story cars glow and shimmer with their painted bunnies dancing and wiggling to life. In the background, the green hills seem to glow brighter and the letter-shaped clouds spell out happy shapes in the sunny sky.

Mei pushed the last car into place. CLICK! TOOT TOOT TOOOOT! The train gave its biggest toot yet. All three painted bunnies danced and wiggled on the cars. The pictures were alive!

The Story Train chugs along the rainbow tracks through the rolling green hills with all three story cars in perfect order — Seed Car, Watering Car, Flower Car — their painted pictures glowing and alive, while Mei runs alongside it laughing. In the background, giant open storybooks stand among the hills and puffy letter-shaped clouds dot the bright sky.

The little train began to chug forward on the rainbow tracks. And it told the whole story out loud! "Once, a bunny found a seed. The bunny watered it every day. And a big, beautiful flower bloomed!" Beginning, middle, and end.

Mei sits on the grass beside the stopped Story Train, drawing intently in her sketchbook — her page shows a bunny holding out a flower to a friend — with a sparkle of magic glowing around the edges of her sketchbook. In the background, the rainbow tracks stretch into the distance through the green hills under a golden afternoon sky.

The train slowed down. It gave a soft toot. Mei looked at her sketchbook. She had a new idea! She drew a picture of the bunny giving the flower to a friend. Could she make her very own story car?

Mei watches in delight as her brand-new story car — the Friendship Car — glows and attaches itself to the back of the Story Train behind the Flower Car, showing her drawing of a bunny giving a flower to a friend, while Mei clutches her sketchbook to her chest and beams with pride. In the background, the paper-and-crayon train station stands cheerfully among the rolling green hills, with letter-shaped clouds and a warm setting sun painting the sky in soft oranges and pinks.

And just like that — her drawing floated right off the page! It became a brand-new story car, shiny and bright. CLICK! It hooked onto the back. TOOT TOOT! Mei was a storyteller too. What story would YOU put on the next car?
