Princess Zoombella loved her playroom. It had soft purple rugs, tall sunny windows, and so many toys! Outside, a beautiful loch sparkled in the sun. "What shall we play today?" she said with a big smile.
Splash, splash, splash! In swam her best friend through the big window. Nessie Sparkles shook her shimmery scales and giggled. "Let's play EVERYTHING!" she said. And so they did.
First, they played dress-up! Sparkly capes flew through the air. Swoosh! Shiny crowns tumbled to the floor. Clink, clink! Silky scarves landed on the rug. Whoosh! The dress-up clothes were everywhere!
Next, they painted pictures! Squishy paint went squirt, squirt, squirt! Red here. Blue there. Yellow on Nessie's nose! "Oops!" laughed Nessie Sparkles. Paint pots and brushes rolled across the floor.
Then they built a block tower! Tall, tall, tall—CRASH! Down it came! Blocks bounced and rolled under chairs, behind pillows, and into every corner. "That was the biggest one yet!" cheered Princess Zoombella.
Princess Zoombella stopped. "Oh! I want my butterfly toy!" She loved that little toy so much. Its wings were soft and purple, and they shimmered like the loch. She looked left. She looked right. But where was it? "I can't find it!" she said, her lip wobbly.
Nessie Sparkles waddled over. "Don't worry! We can find it. Let's clean up one small spot at a time. It will be like a treasure hunt!" Princess Zoombella wiped her eyes. A treasure hunt? That sounded fun!
"Let's start here!" said Nessie Sparkles. They picked up the dress-up clothes first. Each sparkly cape went on its hook. Each shiny crown went in its basket. Each silky scarf went in its drawer. Every thing has a home! Was the butterfly there? Not yet!
Next, they cleaned up the paints. Lids went on tight—pop, pop, pop! Brushes stood up in their cup. Paintings hung up to dry. The messy spot was now a clean spot! Was the butterfly there? Not yet! "Keep going!" said Princess Zoombella.
Then they picked up the blocks. One, two, three—into the box! Four, five, six—into the box! And there, hiding under the very last block—something soft and purple shimmered! "My butterfly!" cried Princess Zoombella. She hugged it tight.
Princess Zoombella looked around. The playroom was clean and bright! The soft purple rug was clear. Everything was in its home. It felt so good! "Next time," she said, "let's put each toy back right after we play. Then nothing gets lost!" Nessie Sparkles nodded. "And the next game is faster to start!"
Princess Zoombella stood by the tall sunny window, her butterfly toy in her hands. The loch glittered gold and pink in the evening light. Nessie Sparkles swam home with a happy wave. Tomorrow there would be new games, new messes, and new treasure hunts. And this tidy, sparkly room would be ready and waiting.
