Queen Neena woke up in her cozy castle on the snowy hilltop. The round windows glowed warm and golden. Outside, the flowers hummed and the snowflakes sparkled like tiny stars. It was a new day!
But wait. What was that? A fuzzy gray cloud floated right behind Queen Neena. It followed her down the hall. It followed her to the kitchen. It was small and round and fuzzy — like a soft, gray puff.
The fuzzy gray cloud felt heavy. It made Queen Neena's tummy feel funny — like butterflies, but not the good kind. She put her hand on her tummy. "Why do I feel like this?" she asked.
She did not know why the cloud was there. And not knowing made her feel even more funny inside. The cloud got a little bigger. "Go away, cloud!" said Queen Neena. But the fuzzy gray cloud stayed.
Queen Neena walked outside to the friendly winding path. The snow sparkled, but the cloud followed her. Step, step, step. Puff, puff, puff. Everywhere she went, the fuzzy gray cloud came too.
Then she saw her friend in the big open meadow. "Hello, Queen Neena!" called Frostyline Fable. He tilted his head. "Oh! You have a fuzzy gray cloud today." He said it gently, like it was not strange at all.
"You can SEE it?" said Queen Neena. "Oh yes," said Frostyline Fable. "Sometimes a fuzzy gray cloud follows me, too. Especially when I do not know what will happen next. It makes my snowy tummy feel wiggly."
"Really?" asked Queen Neena. "Really," said Frostyline Fable. "Everyone gets a cloud sometimes. It is called worry. And it is okay to feel it." Queen Neena took a deep breath. She was not the only one.
They sat together on the castle steps. "Can we make it go away?" asked Queen Neena. "Maybe not all the way," said Frostyline Fable. "But let's try something. Breathe in slow like you smell a flower. Breathe out slow like you blow a bubble." They breathed together. In… and out. In… and out.
"Now," said Frostyline Fable, "can you tell your cloud what you feel?" Queen Neena looked up at the fuzzy gray cloud. "I feel worried," she said softly. "I do not know what will happen tomorrow. And that feels scary." She said it out loud. And something happened. The cloud got a little smaller. And a little softer.
"It is still there," said Queen Neena. "That is okay," said Frostyline Fable. "It does not have to go all the way away. You told it your feelings. You shared it with a friend. That is a very brave thing." Queen Neena smiled — just a little. The cloud was still there, but it felt lighter now.
Queen Neena and Frostyline Fable walked down the friendly winding path together. The fuzzy gray cloud was still there — small and soft, floating quietly. And that was okay. Because the flowers still hummed. The snowflakes still sparkled. And tomorrow? Well, tomorrow would come when it came. And Queen Neena would not have to meet it alone.
