Willow Charms is a little witch. She lives in a cozy cottage in a soft purple forest. The moon is up. The stars are out. It is time for bed. But Willow says, "No, no, no! I do not want to sleep! There is too much magic to do!"
Willow waves her wand. Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! Little lights dance around the room. "See?" says Willow. "So much magic to do!" But the moon peeks through the round window. The moon says it is bedtime.
Willow looks out her round window. She sees one bright star. "Goodnight, star," she whispers. She sees two more stars. "Goodnight, goodnight," she says. Can you say goodnight to the stars too?
She sees so many stars! Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight! One by one, Willow waves to each little star. Each time she says goodnight, she feels a tiny bit sleepy. But just a tiny bit!
"I am NOT sleepy," says Willow. But her tummy is warm. Her body is slow. "Maybe a bath," she says. Willow makes bubbles with her wand. Splish, splash, splish! Warm water feels so nice. A warm bath helps her body get ready for sleep.
Now Willow is clean and cozy. She puts on her soft pajamas. They are purple with little gold stars. She yawns a big yawn. "I am still not sleepy!" she says. But was that a yawn? Yes, it was!
Willow finds a tiny book. It is her favorite. She reads it every night, the same cozy book. "Once upon a time," she reads, "a little star fell asleep in the sky." Doing the same things every night helps Willow feel safe and calm.
Now it is time to tuck in her friends! Willow picks up her stuffed bunny. "Goodnight, bunny," she says. She tucks bunny under a soft blanket. Pat, pat, pat. She gives bunny a kiss.
Willow picks up her stuffed owl. "Goodnight, owl," she says. She tucks owl under the blanket too. Pat, pat, pat. She picks up her stuffed cat. "Goodnight, cat." Pat, pat, pat. Can you pat them goodnight?
All her friends are tucked in. Willow climbs into her big, fluffy bed. The blankets are so soft, like clouds. She pulls them up to her chin. The candles flicker low. The cottage is quiet. Shhh.
Willow closes her eyes. She feels warm. She feels safe. She whispers, "Maybe sleep is magic too." And it is! Sleep is the most magical spell of all. When Willow sleeps, her mind dreams up brand-new magic for tomorrow.
Outside, the stars twinkle on. The moon watches over the little purple forest. Inside the cozy cottage, Willow dreams of tomorrow — new spells, new sparkles, new magic. And it all starts with a good night's sleep. Goodnight, Willow. Goodnight, little one.
