In a soft, colorful meadow, under a warm golden sun, there lived a silly green bug named Zigzag Zander. He loved puzzles! Big puzzles. Small puzzles. All puzzles!
His best friend was a big buzzy beetle named Buzzywhirl. Buzzywhirl loved to tinker and build. Buzz, buzz, buzz! What a busy beetle!
One sunny morning, Zigzag Zander found something special by the cozy little tree stump house. A puzzle! A big, colorful puzzle with red, yellow, and blue pieces. "Oh boy, oh boy!" said Zigzag Zander.
Zigzag Zander and Buzzywhirl put the pieces in, one by one. Click! Click! Click! Red piece — in! Blue piece — in! But wait. One piece was missing! Oh no!
"Where is it?" said Zigzag Zander. They looked high. They looked low. They looked behind the round smooth rocks. No puzzle piece! Can you see it?
They asked a little red bird sitting on a big bright flower. "Have you seen our puzzle piece?" The little red bird flapped her wings. "Look! Look!" she said, and pointed down the path.
Down the path they went! Buzz, buzz, buzz! They found a round yellow frog sitting on a round smooth rock. "Have you seen our puzzle piece?" The round yellow frog puffed his cheeks. "Look! Look!" he said, and pointed to the big old tree.
Zigzag Zander and Buzzywhirl looked and looked by the big old tree. But they could not find it. Zigzag Zander felt sad. "It is too hard," he said.
Buzzywhirl sat down next to him. "Let us stop," said Buzzywhirl. "Let us take a big, deep breath." In… and out. In… and out. Ahhhh. Can you take a deep breath too?
Zigzag Zander felt better. "Let us try one more time," he said. "Slowly this time." They looked again, slowly, slowly. And then — what is that? Under a big green leaf by the tree… the missing piece! A little star-shaped piece, yellow and bright!
Zigzag Zander picked it up. Click! The last piece fit right in! The puzzle was done! "We did it!" said Buzzywhirl. "We stopped. We took a breath. We asked our friends. And we tried one more time!"
The warm golden sun began to set, painting the meadow soft pink and orange. Zigzag Zander smiled at Buzzywhirl. "I wonder," he said, "what puzzle will we find tomorrow?" And somewhere in the meadow, under a leaf or behind a rock, a brand new puzzle was already waiting.
