Yes! We designed Fable to be safe for kids to use on their own. They can create any characters they want to star in an epic adventure!

Fable does not share your generated images, uploaded photographs, or writing in any way. Your inputs are never used to train anyone else's algorithms. Everything you submit to Fable is kept private on secure servers. You can find more details in our privacy policy.

Printed books are 8x8 inches in softcover or hardcover with 20 to 30 pages. You can add a sentence or two on the first page of each printed book as a dedication.

Yes! The Fable app works on a phone or tablet. If you have a tablet, that is the best way to create new stories, as you can better see the illustrations and editing options. On your phone, the app is great for playing your custom audio stories in the car or at bedtime. The app is available on all iOS, Android, and Fire devices.

Fable uses a number of large language models, image classification models, and image diffusion models to create stories. We believe these AI tools will dramatically increase the number of people who have the time and budget to create custom children's books. We also believe that when a kid defines the character or plot of a story, they are more likely to be engaged in reading and inspired to write more on their own!
